Eeyore
unfortunately suffered an accident in September of 2001 which rendered
him "a total loss" by the insurance company. The Grand Wagoneer
was the 3rd of 4 in a chain reaction collision caused by a careless driver
who did not even try to stop when approching a series of stopped cars.
Car 1 was a Chrysler Mini-Van which was completely totaled (the cause
of the accident), Car 2 was a 2001 GMC Jimmy which did not have 6 square
inches of straight sheet metal after the accident, Car 3 was the 84 Grand
Wagoneer which suffered substantial rear body damage and a bent frame,
Car 4 was a 1999 Mercury Sable which was also totaled after being hit
by the Grand Wagoneer.
Fortunately, my Wife and Daughter who were in the Grand Wagoneer were
fine and released from the hospital with minor bruises, aches and pains.
Nobody was killed, but all the other people suffered serious injuries
ranging from whiplash, a dislocated shoulder, and head trauma. Needless
to say my Wife insisted on another Grand Wagoneer for a replacement vehicle
because of how well Eeyore faired in the accident.
